1. Who we are
Tolk (tolk.live), operated by MORO, is the controller for the processing of personal data described in this privacy policy. Tolk is an online platform that translates conversations live using AI.
2. What data we process
- Account data: name and e-mail address.
- Translation input: the text or speech you submit for translation.
- Technical data: IP address and browser information.
- Payment data: payment statuses and necessary transaction information via Mollie. Sensitive payment details, such as full card numbers or bank details, are processed directly by Mollie.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- performance of the agreement (providing your account and the translation service);
- processing payments;
- improving the service (legitimate interest);
- complying with legal obligations, such as tax retention requirements.
4. External processors
To provide the service, data may be processed by:
- Mistral (translation)
- ElevenLabs (speech recognition and text-to-speech)
- Mollie (payment processing)
Tolk works in line with European privacy rules. Your data is not sold to third parties and your audio is not sent to Big Tech platforms.
5. Cookies and local storage
Tolk only uses functional cookies and local storage — no tracking or advertising cookies:
- tl_lang (cookie): remembers your language choice (NL/EN) for one year.
- tl_theme (local storage): remembers your light/dark theme preference.
- A session cookie to keep you logged in.
6. Retention periods
- Account data is kept for as long as your account is active.
- Invoice and payment data is kept for as long as legally required.
7. Security
All traffic to tolk.live is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to personal data is limited to what is necessary to operate the service.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data, and the right to restriction of processing, data portability and objection, insofar as legally applicable. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
